Sources of Nut Trees

Fruit and Nut

Carries by far the most extensive range of nut trees of any nursery in Ireland. Most trees supplied barerooted only (November -April). Range includes cobnuts, chestnuts, walnuts, heartnuts, almonds and pinenuts.

Can supply small quantities or wholesale.

Some other nurseries and garden centres stock a selection of nut varieties. Always check with the supplier whether the trees are seed-grown or propagated by grafting or stooling. Seed-grown nut trees will not come true to form and in many cases may never produce nuts, or only begin to do so after many years. This particularly applies to walnuts, heartnuts and chestnuts. By contrast, trees propagated by grafting or stooling always come true to form and will begin producing nuts at a young age.
